Photo Restoration
Photo Restoration & Repair
Old photographs are more than images — they are pieces of family history. My photo restoration services are designed to carefully preserve and renew these irreplaceable memories while respecting the character and integrity of the original photograph.
Using a high-resolution scanned copy, I digitally restore damaged photographs by removing dust, scratches, stains, and discoloration; repairing tears, cracks, and worn edges; correcting contrast and color shifts caused by age; and improving clarity where possible. In cases of severe damage, missing or deteriorated areas can often be thoughtfully reconstructed.
The original photograph is never altered. All restoration work is performed on a digital copy only.
Every restoration is handled personally by me. Your images are never outsourced, and no automated or one-click processes are used. Each photograph is approached with care, restraint, and respect for its individuality.
What to Expect
Photo restoration varies greatly depending on the condition of the original image. Factors such as fading, exposure issues, cracks, missing areas, size, and overall damage all affect the time and complexity involved.
Some photographs — particularly those that are extremely out of focus or missing critical detail — may have limitations. I will always review your image first and let you know what is realistically possible before any work begins.

Scanning Guidelines
For best results, I typically handle the scanning of original photographs myself. This allows me to ensure the highest possible resolution and care during the restoration process. Original photos are handled gently and returned safely. Original photographs are never altered or marked in any way.
For clients who are out of the area, high-resolution scanned files are welcome. If you choose to provide your own scan, I recommend a minimum of 300 dpi, with higher resolutions preferred for heavily damaged or detailed images. Please scan photographs as image files rather than documents.
If you’re unsure how to scan your photograph or which settings to use, I’m happy to provide guidance before you send your file.
Investment
Because every photograph is unique, restoration pricing is based on the condition of the image and the time required to achieve the best possible result.
Photo restoration investment begins at $35.
More complex restorations are quoted individually after reviewing the image.
