Fine-Art Pet Photography Sessions
“Dogs do speak, but only to those who know how to listen.” — Orhan Pamuk
For many of us, our pets are more than companions — they are family. We capture countless snapshots and videos, but what’s often missing is a thoughtfully created portrait that truly reflects who they are and the bond you share.
My pet photography sessions focus on creating timeless, expressive photographs that capture personality, connection, and emotion — from a playful grin to a quiet, soulful moment. These images are designed to become lasting keepsakes, enjoyed as digital files, prints, and wall art for years to come.
Above all, your pet’s comfort and well-being are my top priority. Sessions are calm, patient, and guided by your pet’s needs, ensuring a relaxed experience where they can be themselves.
The Experience
Consultation
Each session begins with a brief consultation, typically held by phone or video. We’ll talk about your pet’s personality, your goals for the session, and how to best prepare. This conversation helps ensure a smooth, enjoyable experience tailored to your pet.
The Portrait Session
Photography sessions typically last 1 to 1½ hours, allowing time for your pet to settle in, take breaks, and relax. Sessions are unhurried and designed to be positive for both you and your pet.
Sessions may take place in the studio or on location, depending on your pet’s comfort level and the look you’d like to achieve.
Online Gallery
After your session, you’ll receive a private online gallery where you can view your images at your convenience. You’ll have time to enjoy the photographs and mark your favorite images before your ordering appointment.
Galleries are provided for client viewing only and are not shared publicly.
Viewing & Ordering (Video Call)
Once you’ve reviewed your gallery, we’ll meet via video call to finalize your selections. During this appointment, we’ll narrow down your favorite images, discuss any requested refinements such as cropping or head swaps, and talk through product options.
Available products include digital image collections, professional prints, and wall art such as canvas and acrylics. I’ll help guide you toward options that best suit your home and how you’d like to enjoy your images.
Optional Fine-Art Portrait Upgrade
Some clients choose to elevate a favorite photograph into a custom, painterly fine-art portrait. This is an optional, separate process and can be discussed during your ordering appointment if you’re interested.
Clients who wish to elevate a favorite photograph into a custom, painterly portrait may commission a Custom Pet Portrait separately.
Studio & Location Sessions
Studio Sessions
Studio sessions offer a calm, controlled environment ideal for elegant, modern pet photography. Lighting and posing are tailored to your pet’s coloring and your personal style, creating images designed to complement your home.
Location Sessions
Some pets are most comfortable at home, while others thrive outdoors. Location sessions may take place in your home, yard, private property, or select public spaces. When considering a location, we’ll discuss distractions, leash requirements, and your pet’s comfort to ensure a successful session.
Legacy Pet Portrait Sessions
Legacy Pet Portrait Sessions are among the most meaningful I offer. Created for senior pets and beloved companions facing health challenges, these sessions honor your pet’s life with compassion, patience, and care. When circumstances require, time-sensitive requests are given priority whenever possible.
Investment
A $200 session deposit is required to reserve your date and is applied toward your session. Deposits are non-refundable if a session is canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice.
Final image galleries typically include:
-
20–30 images for a single pet
-
30–40 images for two pets or family sessions
Artwork and digital images are purchased separately, either a la carte or through custom collections. All prints, albums, and wall art are produced using professional-quality materials designed to last.
Why Print?
To print a photograph is to give it life.
While digital images are wonderful for sharing, printed artwork becomes part of your everyday environment — something you see, touch, and live with. Prints preserve memories beyond trends and algorithms, creating lasting reminders of the love you share with your pet.
