A Hybrid Fine-Art Process

My custom portraits blend modern digital tools with traditional artistic craftsmanship. Advanced digital techniques may be used during the creative process, but every final portrait is carefully refined by hand in Photoshop with painterly decision-making, intentional brushwork, and close attention to your pet’s unique features.

For select commissions, the artwork is further enhanced with hand-applied acrylic embellishments, adding texture and depth that bring the portrait into the physical world.

How Custom Portrait Pricing Works

Custom pet portraits are commissioned separately from pet photography sessions and begin with a Wall Art Collection on canvas. This canvas establishes the final size and presentation of the artwork.

From there, additional artistic services may be added based on the level of customization desired. This layered approach allows each portrait to be tailored to your vision while ensuring pricing reflects the time, skill, and hands-on artistry involved.

Canvas Foundation

All custom pet portraits are created exclusively on canvas using professional, archival-quality materials.

Canvas portraits may be ordered unframed or framed, depending on your preference and how you plan to display the artwork. Each piece is finished to be ready for display.

Painterly Fine-Art Transformation

The painterly transformation is an artistic refinement that reinterprets your photograph into a fine-art portrait. This process involves extensive hands-on digital painting in Photoshop, careful attention to likeness, refined brushwork, and thoughtful artistic decision-making.

This stage goes far beyond applying a filter or preset — each portrait is individually painted and refined to create a cohesive, expressive work of art.

Pricing for painterly transformation varies based on complexity, number of subjects, and artistic scope.

Hand-Applied Acrylic Embellishment (Optional)

Select canvas portraits may be further enhanced with hand-applied acrylic embellishments, adding subtle texture, depth, and dimension.

This final step makes each portrait truly one of a kind. Acrylic embellishment is optional and quoted separately based on canvas size and level of detail.

Digital File Inclusion

A high-resolution digital file of the finished portrait is included with each commissioned canvas. This file is intended for personal archival use and sharing.

Commission Process

Custom portrait commissions are discussed during a consultation or ordering appointment. Once details are finalized, a clear quote is provided before any work begins.

Due to the custom nature of commissioned artwork, turnaround times vary depending on complexity and current commission schedule.

Payment & Scheduling

A $200 non-refundable deposit is required to begin the custom portrait process. This deposit secures your commission and is applied toward the final artwork total.

The remaining balance is due prior to delivery. Full pricing, timelines, and scope of work are reviewed and approved before the artistic process begins.
